Our interactive Fishing & Crabbing adventure is the perfect outdoor themed expedition for your Scout Group! While your scout learns how to fish and crab, they will learn how the role of mother nature, the right equipment, knowledge, and little bit of luck is used throughout every fishing & crabbing experience. Through fishing & crabbing, children of all ages learn the importance of being Patient and Persistent. Patience comes naturally when you learn how to fish, persistence comes from hard work and the effort to come back and try again! We believe the Scout Groups across America work hard at building a solid foundation for children to become confident, courageous, honest, and resourceful. Here at Family Fishing Adventures we believe all Scouts will learn something new during this unique Adventure!

Do we need our own Fishing Gear?

Not at all, at Family Fishing Adventures we supply all Fishing equipment including a fishing pole for each child on board, lures, bait, and all of the Crabbing Gear we will use. Feel free to bring your child’s own gear if they have a lucky pole or reel at home that they would prefer to use.

Do we need a Fishing or Crabbing License?

No, our U.S.C.G certified Captain has all of the Fishing & Crabbing permits through his Maryland Fishing Guides License. As well as, Crabbing & Fishing Permit Stickers on the boat to allow every child on board to Fish & Crab.

What should we wear?

Every angler knows that it is important to be prepared for anything. Dress for the weather, but on a average day where the weather is warm, a t-shirt, shorts, and soft soled shoes will do perfectly. Always try to avoid wearing flip flops on a fishing boat, but it is not mandatory as our captain and crew will make sure everyone is operating the fishing poles safely. If there is a chance of rain, bring a poncho or light rain coat. The Sea Dragon is covered by a 25-foot roof from bow to stern that will protect you from the sun and rain, but it is always better to “have it and not need it, rather then need it and not have it”.

Do you sell drinks or snacks on board?

Yes, we sell water and gatorade on board. As well as, light snacks (chips, pretzels, popcorn).
